Paramedic
As a paramedic, you’ll be part of an interdisciplinary team organizing and providing quality patient care services. For paramedics working inside the hospital, care will be delivered under the supervision of a licensed professional.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Care for patients that are neonate, infant, early childhood, late childhood, adolescent and adult.
• Demonstrate comprehensive assessment skills within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
• Perform as team leader, as well as assist in delivery of patient care, using age and developmentally appropriate interventions according to individual licensure, departmental protocols, and standards of care.
• Prioritize and deliver dependable, effective patient care in a variety of patient situations.
• Demonstrate the five rights of medication administration within the scope of practice (when working transport outside the hospital).
• Administer no medication, with the exception of an over-the-counter topical given under the supervision of a registered nurse (when working inside the hospital).
• Evaluate patient response to interventions and adjust the plan of care.
Qualifications include:
• Current certification as a paramedic in the state of Georgia required, National Registry preferred.
• Must be in compliance with State Continuing Education requirements as outlined by Georgia Code 3, 31-11-58.1 and DHR regulations for paramedics.
• A minimum of two year's experience with patient care required, pediatric experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification is required, PALS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Competencies, as defined by the department, must be completed within six months of hire.
